John Radcliff Residency: 1893 in Eagle River John Radcliff has a Memorial Page John Radcliff never lived in the St. Germain area, but he rates being included here. He was the only Vilas County sheriff killed in the line of duty. In the years that followed, no judge, no sheriff, no member of law enforcement, or person involved with the courthouse has given this man the slightest acknowledgement. When the courthouse was redone a few years ago there was not even a thought of including a memorial for this man who gave his life in the line of duty. Date deceased: July 7, 1911 Cause of death: Gunshot Interment: Eagle River Cemetery Top or Menu Robert Radtke Residency: Late 1970's Bob moved to St. Germain after retiring and he was well-known in the area. His car was easily identified by the license plates "SOBR" which he said stood for "Sweet Old Bob Radtke." He passed away in 1990 and interment is in the St. Germain Cemetery.

Top or Menu Jack Radue Residency: Born here Jack owned and operated Radue's Resort on Pickerel Lake (Hwy J) from 1954 - 1998. Top or Menu Michael Radue Residency: Born here Mike is a son of Jack Radue. He is employed with Woodland Auto and has been for many years. Top or Menu Robert Radue Residency: Born here Robert is a son of Jack Radue and a brother to Michael Radue. Top or Menu Robert W. Radue Robert is a brother of Jack Radue. Little else is known of him.  Top or Menu Silvia Radue Residency: Mid 1940's Silvia was married to William L. Radue. She helped with Radue's Resort on Big St. Germain Lake. Date deceased: 1978 Cause of death: Unknown Interment: St. Germain Cemetery  Top or Menu William J. Radue Residency: Born here William is the son of William L. and Silvia Radue. Very little is known about him. Date deceased: Unknown Cause of death: Unknown Interment: Unknown Top or Menu William L. Radue Residency: Mid-1940's  William owned 3000' of frontage on Big St. Germain which he purchased right after WW II for 50¢ a foot. He built a summer home, then built Radue's Resort. Some years later he sold the resort to a man who's last name was Voek. Voek changed the name to Clear View. William then built and operated Radue's Resort on Pickerel Lake (Hwy J).  Date deceased: 1967 Cause of death: Unknown Interment: St. Germain Cemetery Top or Menu Jerry Rappa Residency: Early 1980's Jerry has operated his own construction business in this area for many years. Top or Menu Jeanne Ray Residency: Born in Phelps Jeanne was born and raised in Phelps. She leased and operated the Twilight Tavern for a time. Later she waitressed at Giese's Indian Lodge (Molgaard's Indian Lodge) and Blink Bonnie's (Hubba Hubba). She then operated Jeannes Weinies Hot Dog Stand. After the death of her significant other, John Pluhar, she sold the stand and moved out of the area. Date deceased: 2007 Cause of death: Unknown Interment: Unknown Top or Menu Edward Reid, Jr. Residency: 1972 Ed is a son of Edward Reid, Sr. He managed Spang's Italian Restaurant in Minoqua for several years. He is currently selling real estate in the Minoqua area. Top or Menu Edward Reid, Sr. Residency: 1972 Ed purchased and operated Spang's Italian Restaurant (The Hearth) from 1972 until he retired. He moved to Florida and lived there several years before returning to St. Germain again. Top or Menu Joseph Reid, Jr. Residency: Born here Joe is a son of Joseph Reid Sr. He has helped in Spangs Italian Restaurant (The Hearth) for many years. Top or Menu Joseph Reid, Sr. Residency: 1972 Joe is a son of Ed Reid, Sr. He took over the management and operation of Spang's Italian Restaurant (The Hearth) in St. Germain after his father retired. He eventually purchased Spang's Italian Restaurant in Minoqua as well until it was sold. Top or Menu Rosie Reid Residency: 1972 Rosie is married to Edward Reid, Sr. and helped with the operations and management of Spang's Italian Restaurant (The Hearth) in St. Germain until she and her husband retired. Top or Menu Charles Rekau Residency: Unknown Charles and his wife, Eva, were caretakers of Walter E. Olson's large amount of property and buildings on Big St. Germain Lake, Little St. Germain Lake, and Alma Lake. He was the father of Elaine Enlow. Date deceased: Unknown Cause of death: Unknown Interment: Unknown Top or Menu Eva Rekau Residency: Unknown Eva was the wife of Charles Rekau, a sister of Walter E. Olson, and the mother of Elaine Enlow. She and her husband were caretakers of Walter E. Olson's large amount of property and buildings in this area. Date deceased: Unknown Cause of death: Unknown Interment: Unknown Top or Menu Dwight Richards Residency: 1940's Dwight is a son of Joseph Richards, Sr. He and took over management of Richards Resort on South Bay of Little St. Germain Lake from 1975 - 1994. Top or Menu Elsa Richards Residency: 1940's Elsa was the wife of Joseph Richards, Sr. and the mother of Joseph Richards, Jr. and Dwight Richards. She helped with the operations of Richards Resort (Now Black Bear Lodge) on South Bay of Little St. Germain Lake until 1975.  Top or Menu Jane Richards Residency: Born here Jane is a daughter of Dwight Richards and a sister to Jeffery, Michael, and Timothy Richards. She currently works at Pub and Prime (Max's Tavern). Top or Menu Jeffery Richards Residency: Born here  Jeff is a son of Dwight Richards and a brother to Michael , Jane, and Timothy Richards He helped with the maintenance of Richards Resort until it was sold and now works for Richie Oil Company. Top or Menu Joseph Richards, Jr. Residency: 1940's Joseph is a son of Joseph Richards, Sr. and a brother of Dwight Richards. He operated a bowling alley in Eagle River for many years. Top or Menu Joseph Richards, Sr. Residency: 1940's Joseph owned and operated Richards Resort (Now Black Bear Lodge) on South Bay of Little St. Germain from 1940's until he passed away in 1967.

He has been employed at Camps Super Valu (First Grocery) for many years. Top or Menu Timothy Richards Residency: Born here  Tim is a son of Dwight Richards and a brother to Jeffery, Jane, and Michael Richards. He operates, Timmy's, a hamburger stand in Eagle River which used to be known as Elcho's. Top or Menu Floyd Rogers Residency: 1950 Floyd was a brother of Janet Jackson and well known throughout the community as "Pancho." He and Janet arrived here with their parents, who purchased a resort on Dam Lake in 1950. During WW II, he flew a P-52 fighter. After the war he returned here and built and operated The Hearth. Years later, when he sold The Hearth to Ed Reid, Sr. he operated a manual car wash in St. Germain. This was located on the current site of the Waldmann Construction office building. Date deceased: 1981 Cause of death: Unknown Interment: Uknown Top or Menu Robert Rollmann Residency: 1950 Robert played softball with the St. Germain Softball League for many years and was an avid golfer. He owned a mobile home dealership in or near Shawano, WI, but lived here on Found Lake.

She was known by and called affectionately, "Granny" by most people in town. Date deceased: Unknown Cause of death: Complications of Dementia Interment: Unknown Top or Menu Donald Rohner Residency: 2000 Donald is a son on of Adelle "Granny" Rohner. Although officially a resident in 2000, "Veg" is well-known here and been considered a "resident" for many years. He taught mathematics in J. I. Case High School in Racine (spending most of each summer and holidays here) until he retired in 2000 and moved here permanently. Top or Menu William Rohner Residency: MId-1980's Willie was a son of Adelle "Granny" Rohner and brother to "Veg." Willie worked for J. I. Case in Racine, WI for many years. He moved to St. Germain permanently in the mid-80's. Date deceased: 2004 Cause of death: Heart attack Interment: Unknown Top or Menu Laurel Rose Residency: Mid-1980's Known better in our area as "Lolly," she was married to Richard "Dick" Rose.and the mother of Mark Rose. When he passed away from lung cancer, she started the area's branch of Angel on My Shoulder. She is still much involved with this organization. Top or Menu Mark Rose Residency: Born in Eagle River, WI Mark is a son of Dick and Laurel Rose. He took over the management and operations of Discover Wisconsin© after his father passed away. Top or Menu Richard Rose Residency: Mid-1980's Dick was one of our most productive and popular muskie guides. Fishing with Dick was an experience in learning the world of muskie fishing as no other knew it. He was deeply involved with Muskies, Inc. and other programs that supported catch and release before it was popular. He loved the pursuit of record muskies and guided George Pivar to his line-class record. He guided Governor Thompson on Snipe Lake and, in the process, convinced him of his idea for a TV program geared to showing interesting aspects of our state and promote tourism. This led to his Discover Wisconsin TV program which he developed and organized with his usual enthusiasm. Tony is the son of Thomas Rossi. He served in the Marine Corps and currently works in a motorcyle & personal watercraft dealership and related sales. He has lived in Florida for many years. Top or Menu Audrey Rossi Residency: 1990 Audrey is a daughter of Reuben and Dorothy Baneck. She is married to Thomas Rossi and manages the Little Saint Express Mart.  Tom taught for total of 28 years in St. Germain Grade School (Red Brick) and Northland Pines Middle School. He was a founder of the St. Germain Fish and Wildlife Club. He designed the club logo, was its first president, and was instrumental in obtaining $1500 in donations for the club's starting cash reserve. He served on St. Germain Fire and Rescue Department for eight years and was Fireman of the Year in 1985 for working to bring about a lowering of the town's homeowner insurance rates. Top or Menu James Rothing Residency: 1980 "Jim Bob" came here for many years and was well-known long before he moved here. He was the first employee of Waldmann Construction and he and Brad Waldmann were the only two for a long time. He is still employed with Waldmann's during the summer, but winters in the Florida Keys. In 2002 he had an attack of HuckleberryFinnites and floated down the Mississippi River on a made-over pontoon boat, 'tooning his way to Florida. Top or Menu Bradley Rux Residency: Born here Bradley is a son of Eugene Rux and was employed at Pukall Lumber Company in Arbor Vitae, WI. for many years. He and his wife, Laura, now own and operate a restaurant in Port Wing, MI. Top or Menu Clarence Rux Residency: Mid 1940's Clarence came here from Butternut, WI in the mid-1940's. He built and operated Rux's Service Station (Standard Oil) for many years. The station was located on the lot across Hwy 155 from the old Red Brick Grade School where the Subway now stands. He died from severe injuries caused by a tire that exploded while he was working on it. Date deceased: Unknown Cause of death: Exploding tire Interment: Unknown Top or Menu Esther Rux Residency: Born here Esther is the daughter of Alexander McGregor, Jr. She was married to Clarence Rux and is the mother of Eugene Rux, Sr. Date deceased: Unknown Cause of death: Complications of Dementia Interment: unknown Top or Menu Eugene Rux, Jr. Residency: Born here Eugene is a son of Eugene Rux, Sr. Little is known of Eugene's whereabouts. Top or Menu Eugene Rux, Sr. Residency: Born here Gene is a son of Clarence and Esther Rux and was born Oct. 19, 1935, in St. Germain. He operated Rux's Service Station for several years after his father passed away. Date deceased: May 27, 2008 Cause of death: Unknown Interment: Unknown Top or Menu James Rux Residency: Born here Jim is a son of Eugene Rux, Sr. He is currently employed in area construction. Top or Menu Jenny Rux Residency: Born here Jenny is a daughter off Alexander McGregor, Jr. She was married to Lionell Rux and helped in the management and operations of Rux's Cabins on Big St. Germain Lake. These cabins are a part of what was once Jack Pine Lodge. Top or Menu Lionel Rux Residency: Mid 1940's Lionell was a brother to Clarence Rux and came here from Butternut, Wi.
